Working at QuantCo
Who we are
Founded by four Harvard and Stanford PhDs, QuantCo is a leading applied AI company with over 200 data scientists, software engineers, economists, and AI experts. Our technology fuses state-of-the-art generative AI with econometric optimization and causal inference, enabling automation grounded in both structured and unstructured data while maintaining full explainability and traceability.
What we do
We leverage data science, AI, engineering, and economics expertise to help organizations turn data into decisions. Our teams combine cutting-edge econometrics, deep learning, and machine learning techniques to develop solutions for:
How we work
Our teams are lean, robust, and work effectively through very close collaboration. They typically consist of a combination of different roles and backgrounds where responsibilities often overlap and successes are shared.
At QuantCo, typical days do not exist, and our schedules are structured around building solutions rather than sitting in meetings. We spend our time tackling messy, real-world data, demanding a blend of technical rigor, pragmatism, and innovation to solve our partners' most critical problems.
We typically engage in client partnerships that last for many years, allowing our teams to dive deep into complex data environments and build best-in-class, end-to-end systems that we own. By combining this deep institutional knowledge with state-of-the-art technology and an exceptionally talented team, we solve our partners' most critical and high-stakes business problems.

Interview Preparation
Tips to prepare
Brush up on your Python/programming skills and be prepared for a live coding session. You should be able to demonstrate that you can code competently without AI assistance.
Be prepared to discuss previous work experience or personal projects. QuantCo colleagues are interested in understanding what you learned from these experiences, and how deeply you understand the new technologies you encountered.
Ask questions. If you've been asked to build something or answer a complicated question, you should seek clarity with your own follow-up questions!
Example topics
Topics that may be evaluated during your interview:
- Data storageformats and approaches, relational databases, columnar formats (Parquet, Arrow), NoSQL
- Data ProcessingETL pipelines, batch vs streaming, data validation, transformation
- Performanceoptimisation, memory architecture, profiling, caching, concurrency, Big-O complexity
- SystemsCI/CD, testing strategies, deployment, version control, API design
- Observabilitylogging, metrics, tracing, alerting
Tips to prepare
Brush up on your Python/programming skills and be prepared for a live coding session. You should be able to demonstrate that you can code competently without AI assistance.
Read and learn more about real-world AI use cases. Come prepared with an understanding around the challenges and nuances of AI in these settings.
Ask pragmatic, not only technical questions. Demonstrate that you can sensibly translate commercial objectives into technical solutions.
